Donut’s latest episode moves away from the Verge TS Pro and into something much more everyday: retrofit potential. This time, the team built a swappable battery demonstrator to explore what happens when solid-state tech gets dropped into an existing vehicle platform.

When Avenrà dropped off their EVO for testing, they had a lot to live up to. On paper, the spec sheet reads like someone ticked every option in the configurator. A full suite of rider tech, app connectivity, safety systems, and, thanks to the Hypercore1200 Track Pack they’d kindly fitted to our test mule, a claimed 50kW going straight to the back wheel with a 0–60 time of 2.9 seconds.

For years, self-balancing motorcycles have sat in the same corner as jetpacks and hydrogen superbikes: flashy concepts that look good in promo videos but never make it onto actual roads. Now that might finally be changing.
