While regularly exploring e-dirtbike news for new and advanced e-dirtbikes, one thought sticks in my mind: a lesser-known manufacturer has created something that could compete with them all! Introducing the 02 Max by EVTeker.
EVTeker: The Unsung Hero
I first encountered EVTeker in November 2024, when they introduced me to their remarkable ADV, the GT Pioneer. The GT underwent some truly epic testing, with their team journeying 1300 miles (2092km) across the Tibet mountains just to test its capabilities. The GT Pioneer is an exceptional e-moto, and you can find detailed information about it on our product page.
When asked if they had anything I could show my U.S. clients (since the GT Pioneer isn’t approved there yet). To my joy, they introduced their latest off-road project, the 02 Max.
One look at the pictures and specs made it clear this was something special—fantastic features, huge power, and an IP67 rating for the whole bike.

Market Comparables
The dirt bike scene is buzzing and I can’t get enough of it. Leading this sector is the Stark Varg MX, with 80 hp (60 kW) and 938 Nm (684 ft/lb) of torque. The Varg is a full sized, powerful bike that holds the claim of "the fastest electric motocross bike in the world."
The Varg outperforms the 02 Max, but elsewhere, it's hard to find a comparable product.
SurRon and Talaria are undoubtedly among the O.G. players in this market, and they regularly expand their line-up with new bikes, frequently offering various versions to meet your needs.
Dust Moto, the all-American-made brand, have released the Hightail, a great middle-ground bike offering a shorter-than-normal wheelbase, which really appeals to those wanting a fun, easy-to-manipulate but powerful dirt bike they can throw in the back of the truck.
I'll look in more detail at what's available in this area in an upcoming Newsletter but suffice to say, there's lots going on.
These products feature state-of-the-art technology, but the majority are priced restrictively, exceeding £10,000 ($12632) for the bike alone. Whereas the 02 Max is available for £6-8000 (US$7.5-10000) with international shipping costs included. Price is a major concern for everyone right now, and this noticeable difference is something buyers will note.
What's next for EVTeker
EVTeker is making significant progress towards securing EU and UK road approval for the 02, which will considerably expand their market.
There is still room for improvement—in my view, removable batteries are a valuable asset for serious dirt bikers.
When you're off-road exploring or hitting the jumps, a quick refuel can be crucial, and since rapid charging isn't available in the middle of fields, interchangeable batteries are the best, current solution. EVTeker is already working on a 2.0 version which may have removable battery packs, but this isn't fully confirmed yet.
Final Thoughts
The 02 Max clearly stands out as a contender in the e-dirt bike market. With its impressive specifications and competitive pricing, it is an excellent option for both professionals and enthusiasts.
For some, non-removable batteries might be a significant drawback, while for others, it might not even be on their radar. This e-moto charges in 2 hours and offers a range of about 62 miles per charge.
Meanwhile, EVTeker seem to be dedicated to the format and if they continue to innovate, we eagerly await their next release.
The 02 Max is available to order for £7000 - £8000 and available to the UK, USA and EU (prior to road registration certificate) here
