With the 10kw G8 Ducalon becoming a firm favourite in our sourcing list, I wanted to write a short company profile on Jiangsu Alia Tech and their products.
Back Story
In 2006 Alia was founded as a scooter and motorcycle R&D and manufacturing company. Over the past 12 years they have steadily increased their sales and model range, as well as strengthen their market feasibility through improving the quality of their manufacturing and gaining European certification.
Based in China, they serve the local market as well as international sales distribution to include South America - 50%. South Asia - 15% and Europe rapidly rising to 10% in the past 3 years. This increase in European sales is mainly due to their EEC certification on their recent line of models, including the G8 Ducalon at 10kw and 30kw Peak.
2022 - We Make Contact
Michael from Alia contacted me in 2022 and was keen for Buck City Biker to start importing the Ducalon to the UK and Western Europe, as well as a faster version of our popular R3e and DMG. As you can imagine this was tempting - at the time we didn't have any 10kw bikes on our source list - but I felt Jiangsu weren't quite ready for EU sales.
To be fair they were ahead of the game, but maybe a little too ahead. At the time they didn't have the certificate of conformity for the Ducalon - although it was imminent - and had no sales in Europe on the new product range. I took a close-up look at the bikes and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and build. All this to say, But I still felt they still needed more time in the market before we would import to the UK.
For the next two years I watched the progress of Alia and their EEC COC range. They have done very well and the product has been widely accepted. Jiangsu Alia Tech are one of the few manufacturers offering a 10kw, China Patent bike that passes the EU and UK certification and the feedback is just as pleasing.
And Now?
Now in 2024, Alia Tech employ over 300 people and work out of their huge, in-house manufacturing facility in Jiangsu.
In August, we reached an agreement that allows me to source their products for my clients. We have sample access (MOQ 1) and can choose from the range of colors currently in production. There is no customization available, so the spec is as written, but let's face it, it's impressive. The big plus side is, we normally don't have to wait for production and can ship the product immediately. This can save approximately 30 days and means less lead time to DVLA registration and more time on the road.
If you have any questions about their products please don't hesitate to reach out. Soon I'll be adding more from Alia’s 10 kw (30kw peak) range to our source list. It's going to be a fun ride.
