It’s not the 60s and you’re not in London, but Café Racers are making a "proper ton-up" comeback in the EV sector.

The highly anticipated EM77 has officially rolled off the production line and is now racing through EU and UK certification. It's an exciting addition to the electric motorcycle market, designed with performance, style and practicality in mind.

The Heart of the Ride

At the heart of the EM77 is a 144 volt, 16.8kW drivetrain, offering a real-world range of up to 124 miles (200km) at an average speed of 50mph (80km/h). This is more than sufficient for both urban commuting and longer weekend rides. Opting for a 144v system rather than the standard 72v allows the EM77 to achieve higher speeds without overly stressing the motor or battery, resulting in enhanced performance. This straightforward decision by Insork sets the EM77 apart in the industry, offering a simple but innovative approach to providing higher specifications without adding the extra weight of large motors and super-heavy battery packs.

Liquid Cooling

The bike is powered by liquid-cooled, mid-mounted motor (the motor is attached to the swingarm) providing 16.8kw of power and a top speed of 87mph (140km/h). With acceleration from 0 to 60mph (100km/h) in just 6.5 seconds, the EM77 delivers strong performance, comparable to high-end traditional motorcycles. Both the motor and the controller are liquid-cooled, ensuring that the bike performs consistently even in extreme temperatures.

Is it a Café racer?

Okay, I get it, it's not an actual Café Racer. For that you need a stripped down sports bike from the 60s, ace handlebars and your Schott 141 whatever the weather.

The Café Racer style is a movement in it's own right, surpassing it's 50s/60s origins and enjoying success with decades of heritage. Major motorcycle manufacturers have heavily invested in the format and enjoyed great success throughout the 90s and noughties. Now, in 2025, the café racer ethos of modifying and upgrading your cheap ride to be faster and better is synonymous with the 'at-home' e-moto industry. In the EU and US it's already emerging. I talk about it here.

The EM77 is affordable, but far from a 'cheap ride'. Insork, who pride themselves on quality manufacturing and high-end design ethics, has officially classified the EM77 as a café racer, and their commitment is evident. It embodies the typical café racer characteristics: the handlebars are low, the singular round vintage headlight exudes a retro vibe, and the frame offers a touch of 60s rebellion, all enveloped in an elegant 2025-style exterior.

They've done a great job, the EM77 offers a blend of heritage lines with the promise of something modern and sleek making it an attractive choice for riders who appreciate style as much as performance.

Will it be Awesome?

Insork is a relative newcomer in the industry, yet they possess significant ambition and a robust business strategy. The EM77 demonstrates their dedication to top-notch production and advanced technology.

The EM77's battery and cooling systems have undergone five years of testing in mass production, with more than 50,000 electric bikes utilising the same components. This track record of proven reliability makes the EM77's drivetrain a dependable option for riders looking for durability.

Whether you're a seasoned rider or new to the electric motorcycle scene, the EM77 offers a compelling combination of power, range, and style. It's clear that Insork is aiming to position itself as a major player in the electric vehicle market, providing high-performance motorcycles that meet the demands of today's consumers.
