Yadea Kemper: An Affordable A2 with a 10-minute Charge Time

Every now and then, a product is launched that has the potential to truly disrupt the market. This is one of those moments with the Yadea Kemper.
Originally unveiled at the EICMA 2023 show in Milan, the Kemper is a high-performance A2 class e-moto boasting top-tier features, at a price point that's lower than market comparables.
Now in 2025, Yadea, a behemoth brand in electric two-wheeled mobility, has developed the Kemper for road use in the UK and EU, and it's very warmly welcomed.

Performance & Speed
At the Kemper's core is a mid-drive motor with a peak power output of 40 kW, enabling a top speed of 99.4 mph (160 km/h). Although not ground-breaking, this top speed should be plenty for those who want a faster-than-legal road racer to tear up the asphalt. More importantly, riders can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a swift 4.9 seconds, positioning the Kemper among the top performers in electric motorcycle acceleration. And with a maximum wheel torque of 570 Nm, you can be sure of a decent ride on the most challenging roads.
Industry-Shaking Charging Capabilities
It's undeniable that the rapid charging system is the most impressive feature. Equipped with a 320V 20Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery, the Kemper supports AC and DC fast charging via Type 2 and CCS Combo 2 connectors. This setup allows the battery to reach 80% capacity in just 10 minutes, meaning more time riding and far less time charging.
Elsewhere, we only find this level of specification from a limited selection of premium e-motorcycles that, unfortunately, demand a premium price tag. The Kemper's presence in the market could challenge this norm and allow a shift to more affordable top-tier features.
Design & Technology
Yadea collaborated with the Austrian design firm KISKA to craft the Kemper's modern aesthetic. The motorcycle features angular bodywork that offers a combination of street, race, and EV aesthetics and a forward-leaning, race stance for the rider.
You can expect full connectivity with the Yadea App, allowing remote monitoring of your EV, as well as arming the vehicle for intruder alerts, GPS tracking, and remote starting. Additional tech includes a 1080p front camera, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), reverse gear, cruise control and a 7-inch TFT smart dashboard.
Premium Components for a Superior Ride
Trusted brand-name components will give buyers confidence in the product but also helps enhance performance and safety expectations. Brembo brake callipers paired with Bosch ABS and traction control systems deliver reliable braking and stability. Additional features include a D.I.D. chain, KYB shocks, CATL batteries.
Pricing and Availability
You can pre-order the Kemper. It is road-legal across the EU and UK. Retail prices include shipping, tax, duty and delivery to your address in these regions. Shipping is expected to commence in April 2025.

Is It Perfect?
In general, range is a significant concern for many EV riders and Yadea addresses this very effectively with a 10-minute charge time. With this in mind, a range of 68 miles (110 km) per charge is satisfactory and comparable to other products in the market. However, a longer ride time is always welcomed, and additional miles are a big plus for bikers of any kind.
As a comparison, the LiveWire S2 Alpinista uses 'Level 2' (USA) or 'Type 2' (UK and EU) charging to reach 20%-80% in 78-minutes. It has a range of 71 miles (114km).
Final Thoughts
The Yadea Kemper is symbolic of the advancements in electric motorcycle technology, offering a compelling combination of speed, rapid charging, and modern design. It stands poised to set new expectations for performance and convenience in the e-moto market.
Importantly, by launching this product at a sustainable price, other market-leading brands could potentially take note and revise their pricing strategies to remain competitive, benefiting bikers worldwide.
