Yadea, primarily known for their e-motor scooter products, is an electric vehicle giant who has some of the most popular offerings in the market. Headquartered in Wuxi, China, Yadea has positioned itself as a leader in the EV sector through continuous innovation.
Yadea's Backstory
Yadea began its journey in 1997 under the name Wuxi Dongshi Vehicle Industry Co., Ltd., focusing solely on motorcycles.
In 2001, the company transitioned to electric mobility, establishing Yadea Technology Group Co., Ltd. in Jiangsu, China. This shift marked the beginning of Yadea's commitment to sustainable transportation solutions.
Over the years, Yadea expanded its operations, setting up an export-import company in 2007 to venture into international markets.
A significant milestone was achieved in May 2016 when Yadea became the first Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer to be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This public offering not only validated Yadea's industry position but also provided the capital for further innovation and expansion.
In 2018, Yadea developed the world's fastest electric racing car, reaching speeds of 352 km/hr. The same year, Yadea became the first electric vehicle company to officially support the FIFA World Cup 2018™, enhancing its global brand recognition.
By 2022, Yadea had been ranked global No.1 in annual sales of the industry for six consecutive years, with annual sales reaching over 14 million units. This remarkable growth reflects Yadea's dedication to providing quality products that fulfil their customers needs.
Manufacturing Capability
Yadea runs manufacturing plants throughout China, with sites in Wuxi, Tianjin, Cixi, and Qingyuan. Furthermore, the company has set up research and development centres in Shanghai and Wuxi, highlighting its dedication to innovation.
In 2019, Yadea broadened its manufacturing operations by establishing a production facility in Vietnam, intending to strengthen its presence in international markets. This decision enables Yadea to export products to other nations with lower export related costs.
Product Range
Yadea's line-up includes a popular and diverse range of e-motor scooters that are tailored for various user preferences and requirements. Some of these feature cutting-edge Sodium Ion and Graphene batteries that have been developed by the companies r & d department.
Yadea have also launched two high-end electric motorcycles aimed at urban commuting and extended leisure riding. Models such as the Kemper—a high-performance A2 class e-motorcycle with a charge time of 10 minutes—have been developed for European markets, reflecting the company's global ambitions.

Graphene Battery Technology
The company has developed its Graphene 3.0 Battery, which boasts ultra-low temperature resistance and improved capacity. This enhances the performance and longevity of Yadea's electric vehicles. The Graphene battery is positioned as an alternative to Lithium Ion. In comparison, it is more expensive but offers several advantages. The Graphene 3.0 battery is equipped on their E8S Pro e-scooter.
Fast Charging Capabilities
Yadea's latest e-motorcycle, the Kemper, allows a 10-minute to 80% charge time using the combined charging system (CCS). This feature is not only highly beneficial to its users but is also offers an industry leading metric, allowing the Kemper to rival other high-end, ultra-premium brands that are already well-established in the market. The Kemper also features rapid acceleration with 0-62mph (100km/h) in just 4.9 seconds.
What's up in 2025?
Yadea has built a strong global presence and reputation for producing high-quality products tailored to meet the needs of customers in each of their sales regions. In 2025 they are targeting the European market their latest electric e-motorcycle.
Store Front Presence
In Wuxi, our China EV correspondent, Zhengfei Sun reports:
"Just looking at the map, you can find 400 Yadea stores in Wuxi alone, four of which are within 1 miles of the city centre. Wuxi is a big city with 7.3 million residents and it is also the location of the Yadea headquarters, but even with that in mind, this number of storefront locations is a good example of a No. 1 producer in the Chinese market."
Sodium Battery
In January 2025, Yadea introduced its latest electric two-wheeler featuring innovative sodium battery technology at a launch event in Hangzhou, China, coinciding with CES 2025 in the United States. This advancement offers improved safety, eco-friendliness, and longevity compared to traditional lithium batteries.
